Americans encouraged to "demand" BBC World News channel
I just read about this campaign by BBC World:
BBC World has launched a major guerilla marketing campaign designed to encourage Americans to demand the channel from their cable operators.

So of course I followed the link in the article for the BBC World campaign, demandbbc.com and I actually spluttered my tea as I read this on their website:
No 24-hour television news network brings you an unbiased global perspective like BBC World. News that is independent, trustworthy and impartial.
Really!? They claim they are "unbiased" and "trustworthy" and "impartial"?
Hmm, very interesting considering how the BBC news appears to be so obviously biased on so many different stories. This recent article from The Times gives more details about how a BBC report damns its 'culture of bias'.(and that's from a study commissioned by the BBC!).
The most galling fact is that we pay for the BBC with our annual TV Licence (a colour TV Licence costs £135.50) and if we want to watch television, we don't have any choice but to pay the licence fee!
Americans don't have to subscribe to cable and I certainly hope they don't give into this campaign to "demand" the BBC from their cable operators!
In my opinion, the BBC World campaign, demandbbc.com, is shameful. I'm really surprised the BBC is stooping to such underhanded tactics.

Maybe BBC is biased but I hope they add BBC World to my cable service. CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC are a complete waste of time.
BBC will in 30 minutes give you news from America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Outside of Iraq there is not much in the way of any international news on any American news station.
For the past few years the only thing they reported on was Iraq. Now the only thing they report about is the election. The election is important, but you do not need election news 24/7 days a week.
I don't know I just like the way BBC presents news. They don't get a republican and democrat to come on argue for ten minutes and call that news.
